Understanding Lintel Compliance

At Galintel® we’re committed to quality, safety and compliance throughout everything we do. Our facility has continuously manufactured high-quality steel products for the residential building market in Australia for more than 40 years.  As a brand leader and trusted supplier of lintels we take compliance seriously. We also know it can be a complex topic, so we’re here to help make it easy to understand.

Did you know that you could be using non-compliant lintels that don’t meet Australian Standards*?

Every lintel installed in Australia must contain certain markings for clear identification post-install. All Galintel® steel lintels meet this requirement. For added peace of mind our products are made with high quality steel and backed by a 25 year warranty^.

With that in mind we’ve developed a flyer to help identify the necessary markings and requirements for lintels as per the Australian Standard AS2699.3:2020.

Galintel Solid Base Angle, T-Bar and Rendabar® are manufactured locally at our facility in Coffs Harbour, NSW.

Galintel steel lintels are permanently marked with our brand, Australian Standard number and durability classification on the face for visibility after install as required by AS2699.3:2020.

All Galintel steel lintels are clearly labelled to identify the Australian Standard, durability classification, manufacturer and any limitations as per AS2699.3:2020.

Galintel steel lintels are hot-dip galvanised and tested ensuring the coating thickness exceeds 85 microns to meet the ‘R3’ durability classification of AS2699.3:2020.
