Benefits of Galintel’s Retaining Wall Posts

Retaining Wall Posts
Retaining Wall Post - Short

Retaining walls are a great addition to a home or commercial site.

With steep blocks on the rise in many areas, builders are having to think smart how to make the most out of a space and retaining walls are often an attractive solution.

They can also give landscaping and gardens a much-needed face-lift, provide additional seating areas when entertaining, and protect soil and plants from erosion.

There are however safety risks when building any wall structure – large or small. Engineers and landscapers need to ensure they’re using a strong, tested and compliant structural steel post that will not result in any failures down the line (collapses, displacement or cracks).

“If you’re building a retaining wall, you should be using a retaining wall steel post, and if you don’t invest in a quality one, the wall could end up collapsing or bending/leaning over in time,” Galintel Business Development Manager Pernell Briggs said.

INTRODUCING GALINTEL’S RETAINING WALL POST

Galintel Retaining Wall Posts are manufactured to suit various sleeper products including concrete and timber. The addition of holes to accommodate the fence bracket system can also provide connection of either a timber or metal fence, providing ease of installation, saving you time and money.

Our posts are heavy-duty and fully hot-dip galvanised to AS/NZS4680 so they’re protected from corrosion and are available off-the-shelf in convenient lengths, which means you’re not having to spend a fortune getting structural steel cut to your desired length or wait for it to be manufactured, galvanised and then delivered.

“Everything is already done for you, and is ready to go via our large network of distributors across Australia,” Mr Briggs said. “It’s a far more economical option.”

GALINTEL POST: HOW ARE THEY DIFFERENT?

What makes our retaining wall posts so unique is their simple, streamlined design making them easy to install with our RWP Installation Guide. Better yet, the posts also have holes drilled into them already to accommodate fence brackets.

Many builders like to install a fence and gate on top of a retaining wall, and by using our pre-made retainer wall steel posts with the holes, this can be easily achieved. It solves the problem of where to put the fence.

“We also sell the fence brackets as an accessory item that you can buy after you get the post so you can connect a bracket to it,” Mr Briggs said. “If you want to put a timber or steel fence on top of your retaining wall, we have the brackets to suit. Not a lot of products offer that.”

The great news about our steel retaining wall posts is that they’re also robust enough to be used in large commercial projects too. The posts are available in two sizes, 100mm and 150mm, and come cut in an extensive range of lengths to suit your build.
